What do you think about using German Volume Training in my workouts as I’m looking to add more overall size to my arms. I have been reading up on a few things about this type of training and it seems to be quite popular.

What is your take on this type of training especially for training arms?

Thanks Gareth

Howzit dude

My take on high volume workouts is that yes a change to your current workout might be just what you need to break through your plateau but only temporarily, if you are training all out then there is no way you can put 100% effort into all those sets, especially for arms!

Good luck bru and be sure to let us know how it goes! Here’s to big guns!!

how would i be able to gain more mass more easily . i currently use a meal replacement also with a nitric oxide. i consume 4 meals a day . im currently 54kg. could i have tips on which exercises would be better for massing up. many thanks…..kurt

Hi Kurt the best exercises are the ones that use the most muscle at the same time ie compound movements. An example would be a free weight squat is better than leg extensions for building the quads. Not only do you get better quad development but you also develop the hamstrings, glutes and lower back. I would also try to get an extra meal in per day if you aren’t gaining weight.

Initially i would recommend using a rep range of 6-10 reps to really over load the muscle, using maximum weights to provide the greatest muscle stimulus…. focus on “feeling” the muscle work - the target muscle group, not everything esle! So having said “use heavy weights” this advice is accompanied by “with good/strict/proper form”. So train as heavy as you can, in a 6-10 rep range, with good form…. using compound movements…. for the best gains in quality muscle.

You are a little on the light side of the weight scale - so please write back to me at some stage and give me some more of your stats, so we can try and give you some nutritional guidance. In my opinion, 60%-70% of your physiqe is “constructed” outside the gym, from your very own kitchen and supplement cupboard at home… so nutrition is the key! Lets help you work on that.

Good luck, train hard! All the best, Chris.
